“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” You may have heard this expression before, but it isn’t true.
God created the world with words. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light, (Genesis 1:3) and He saw that it was good. (v. 4) Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead with His words, “Lazarus, come forth!” (John 11:43) Jesus also cursed the fig tree with His words. (Mark 11:12-25)
We are made in the image of God, so we have His authority of life and death in our mouths. Your words have power.
Your words matter. They have influence on others, so we need to be careful what we say about ourselves or others. .
“Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.” (Proverbs 18:21, MSG)
As speakers and writers, we need to be careful with the words we craft. We will either tear down and destroy, or bring refreshing, life-giving water to others.
“Like the cold of snow (brought from the mountains) in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to those who send him, for he refreshes the life of his masters.” (Proverbs 25:13)
I don’t know about you, but I want to refresh others with the words I speak and write. To encourage, build up, strengthen, and edify. To be a messenger of truth and hope in an often dark, confusing, frightening world. To be a life-giver.
If this is you, join me and other aspiring authors for my VIP Writers’ Day event on January 5, 2016, at 10 a.m. Central Time (11 a.m. Eastern Time).
If you can’t make the live call, it will be recorded and you’ll be emailed the replay.
You’ll also get access to a private Facebook group for support and motivation to write (or finish writing) your book so that 2016 is your best writing year yet!
I’ll also send you a downloadable PDF of the resources I’ve used personally to write 10 books (about to release my 11th book and am working on my 12th book!).
The doors are still open but will be closing soon!
